Prayer To Sort Out Complications In Daily Life

Tuesday January 21, 2020

Sometimes it seems like there are complications in our daily lives and we're not sure how to sort things out.  God wants to guide us and help us know how to live well, how to interact, and when to let go.

As we choose to trust God’s goodness and make healthy choices, often in spite of our feelings, we will begin to experience satisfying change and a richer life than anything we’ve previously known.  What does it actually mean to turn our will and our life over to the care of God? What kind of care can we actually expect to receive from God?

We offer these prayers as a starting place in asking God to heal and restore us to the life of tenderness and peace He has planned for us.

Loving God, life feels complicated and challenging today.  If I'm honest, it seems more than I can manage.  My heart is heavy.  My mind is filled with worry and anxiety.  I don't know how to sort things out.

I acknowledge one more time that I'm powerless on my own to create a good and meaningful life today.  I'm turning to You, God, because I've been told that You can restore me to sanity and work out a good way forward even though I can't see that way right now.  Here's what's going on in my life today.  Help me to see things as You do.  Give me strength to take responsibility that is mine but then to leave all the rest of the details with You.

Give me courage to trust that if I will seek Your will, take the next right step You indicate, and then leave the rest with You, things will be well with me.  Thank you for many faithful people who have walked this path before me to help me know that Your plan for trusting and obeying produces results.

As I walk in Your will I also ask for peace of mind, comfort for my heart, strength to stand stable, and rest for my soul.  Amen

Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.  (Matthew 1;28 NLT)

Whoever rests in the shadow of the Most High God will be kept safe by the Mighty One. I will say about the Lord, “He is my place of safety. He is like a fort to me. He is my God. I trust in him.”  (Psalm 91:1-2 NIRV)
