Expressing Thanks During Covid-19 Pandemic
Saturday March 28, 2020
While it is gratifying to see videos and pictures of people clapping hands and banging pots to say thanks to the health care workers, let's us do our part and give thanks together today.
One of the greatest examples of gratitude is my mom, Rose Zaiger. She's almost 98 yrs old, blind, in a wheelchair, and locked down in care facility in Orillia Ontario. And yet, she's joyful and full of gratitude today.
I could make a long list of things my mom is giving thanks for but the point is that we each have our own list. Let’s learn from my mom and so many others and take a few moments now and thank God, shall we?
Thanks God today for:
The list is endess, of course, Lord. Help us to take moments often, in fact, in everything to give thanks and experience the peace of Your presence changing the atmosphere around us and within our hearts. Amen
I know we’re trying to keep in touch with our loved ones and friends. Can I challenge all of us as we make contact today to tell these people how much they mean to us and to say thanks for their love and friendship.

Thanks God today for:
- This day – a day to rejoice and be glad in
- For being God and being in control
- For comfort and strength for everyone who asks
- For being close to us and helping us to be conscious of Your love and care
- Seniors and elders – physically vulnerable but so resilient in their spirit with so much to teach each of us
- Children and youth who are finding ways to reach out like these kids who wrote to seniors like my mom in care facility
- We MUST not forget to give thanks for those who are putting themselves on the line – not just health care professionals but those who are working in supermarkets, pharmacies, and other essential services
- For government services who are co-operating together and trying hard to provide financial assistance where needed
- For all those who have recovered from the virus so far and others who will be confirmed today
- For pastors and spiritual leaders who are making efforts to support their congregations
- For everyone who is praying because we know that You promise to hear our prayers
The list is endess, of course, Lord. Help us to take moments often, in fact, in everything to give thanks and experience the peace of Your presence changing the atmosphere around us and within our hearts. Amen
