Prayer for God's Generous Supply in Overwhelming Situation During Pandemic
Monday March 30, 2020
We are touched multiple times every day with overwhelming need. We need to keep in mind that God's ability to meet need is so much greater than the most overwhelming needs we bring to Him. We need to do our part to bring the needs to Him and to do what we can to help others.
Rickshaw drivers in India, street vendors around the world those who scavenge on top of garbage heaps in the Philippines and others who try to make enough money to buy food for their family for the day now in a 21-day lockdown
Folks we know who are incarcerated with limited programming and uncertainties about court dates and getting supports they need in the community
Folks in mental health group homes who don’t quite understand what is going on as procedures and programs and staff that have given them stability are suddenly changing. W pray for those who live with mental illness requiring the support of professionals who are not available during this crisis. We speak peace to them and alternate ways to get the help they need.
Friends in quarantine in foreign lands with aging parents here and no access yet to humanitarian flights. Keep them safe and provide for relatives here who are vulnerable themselves.
Homeless guy around the corner from my house and all those he represents today who now have limited food and access to warm places to spend a few hours. Help them connect to resources and give them a willingness to receive what is available.
Those who are in pain and incapacitated who have had their elective surgeries cancelled and no sign at this time of when in the future it might be rebooked. We ask for relief from pain, for healing, and for strength as they find their time of suffering lengthened.
Those seniors who are in care facilities where we know workers or other residents have tested positive – as they wait to find out their own status knowing they are so much more vulnerable to serious illness - give them peace of mind. Strengthen their immune system.
For those who are living with anger, violence and substance abuse problems in their home and the fear they face wondering when the next explosion or melt down will take place and what impact that will have on their own safety and well being
