Prayer For Peace As We Stay Home To Stop The Spread Of The Virus
We are encouraged to stay at home in order to protect one another from the spread of the covid-19 virus. God wants us to be at home in peace and security. Let’s ask for that today.
Heavenly Father, it’s such a change to the everyday routine to stay home all day every day. After a long winter with the warmer sunnier days coming we long to go outdoors and enjoy social times with one another in the sunshine. During this time when we can’t do that and we need to be at home, we ask for Your help to consistently take this caring action for the sake of ourselves and others. Thank you for your promise of help in that. We try in vain to do what’s right unless You help us.
We pray for seniors and elders who reside in care facilities today, isolated from family and loved ones, concerned with news of the virus being found in yet another care facility. We bless them with peace, with security, and with the undisturbed rest that comes from knowing that You are with them, God, watching over them and surrounding them with your tender loving care.
We pray for those who live in homes where addiction and violence are what they wake up to today and they feel like any hope for help is even further away than it was before. In Your mercy, God, show them what they should do today, how to find the help they need, and the courage to take any necessary steps. We ask for healing and deliverance from the hurt, fear, anger, sin, and brokenness that lies under these destructive and harmful behaviours. Bring the addict and the abuser to their senses and restore them as well giving peace and wholenesss to the victim and the family members who care for those who suffer.
For those overseas who are desperately trying to get home and finding that very difficult with closed borders and cancelled flights, make a way where there seems to be a way, we pray. Help them to make the contacts they need to make and we pray that the help that is being arranged to reach them in a speedy manner.
For all of us as we live with the uncertainty of being at home for an unknown period of time, we ask for our hearts to be strengthened with Your love and for these times to be rich as we fellowship with You and our family members. You promise to be with us and to make Your home with us as we walk with You and do Your will. Help us today to trust Your promise, do our part, and rely on Your unfailing love to get us through this day. Amen
