Prayer For Help To Be Flexible and Resourceful In The Post Covid-19 Economic Environment
We need to tap into the wisdom and grace of God for ourselves, and on behalf of the many who find themselves vulnerable as we move back into work with COVID-19 still around. God promises wisdom when we ask. Let’s do so.
In every sector of society businesses going forward are going to need to find creative ways to offer their goods and services in the lean financial times ahead. People will have less discretionary income to spend. Lots of folks are leary about how to actually be in the community safely in shops and restaurants. Business owners will need to be resourceful in how they attract business and grow their business in the world of the “new normal.”
There’s no doubt that many people who were furloughed or laid off from their jobs will actually find that as the economy reopens, they have no employment to return to. How many will need to take stock of what experience and skill sets they have and be resourceful in how they market themselves to potential employers in order to provide for themselves and their families.
Let's pray for God's help.
Thank you God that we don’t face today and the days upcoming on our own. You are with us. You have promised that you will never leave us nor forsake us and that You will generously give wisdom to all who ask You for it. So, here we are, standing in need in these challenging times.
We first of all want to acknowledge that You have blessed us. We’ve come this far through these weeks of stress and restriction. We’ve gotten a bit of perspective on what we really do and don’t need and what does and doesn’t matter. Thank you for removing some of this clutter and sharpening our focus. Would you help us to not get grumpy and complain if we don’t have what others have and can’t move forward at quite the same speed they are. Give us hearts that are content with what You provide. Keep us free from the love of money, we pray.
We’re also asking, of course, that You will help us know how to be faithful and resourceful with what opportunities, talents, and skills that we do have. Even if the opportunity may seem small would You help us to give all that we have to it, trusting that You are able to make more out of what we offer to You with faith and gratitude. Help us to work hard, to persevere even though we don’t see the whole program mapped out ahead of us, and give our best to every task.
You are our loving Heavenly Father and You promise to give good gifts to us when we ask You. Your Holy Spirit living in us is guiding us and showing us all that we need for all that we face today. You have and will continue to bless us with every spiritual blessing in Jesus and that can only translate into the optimism and energy that makes whatever task is before us do-able and provides us with the courage we need to face today’s challenges no matter how formidable they seem.
If you then,
who are evil,
know how
to give good gifts
to your children,
how much more will
the heavenly Father
give the Holy Spirit
to those who ask him!”
Luke 11:13
Blessed be the God
and Father of our
Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us
in Christ
with every
spiritual blessing
in the heavenly places,
Ephesians 1:3
These times are not for the faint of heart but thankfully, we are not the faint of heart. Help us to be faithful and to serve You, Lord, in whatever training, employment, job search, volunteer work – whatever the today’s agenda is. We pray to joyfully get out and resourcefully put our abilities into service of You, God and others. We pray that at the end of this day that our lives will be a reflection of what You taught, Lord Jesus, when you told us to let our light shine before others so that they may see our good works and give glory to our Father who is in heaven.
