Prayer Of Hope In God's Reliability To Make Things Right

Who can we trust?  Who's reliable?  Who tells the truth?  Who has the strength and the ability to carry out the things they promise us?  These are the questions we all wrestle with in on a regular basis but certainly as we watch virus variants bring more covid cases in many jurisdictions.  What’s the right way forward at this point in the pandemic?  How many restrictions keep us safe and healthy?  How much openness and “living with the virus” is the best all round plan?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.  Proverbs 3:5-6

God has a plan for our lives as individuals and societies.  He wants to give us hope and a future.  Our own plans haven’t done much for us in the past and the smartest thinkers on the planet so often have to acknowledge that they’ve come to the limits of their understanding.

I long for the day when political leaders and medical personnel would humble themselves and look to God to show us the way forward.  God will certainly use the talents and skills He’s given these folks but He will do things above and beyond what they can figure out or bring about with rules and plans.

And, even though everything will not instantly be the way we would like it to be, but God assures us that we will be enriched by His goodness each step of the journey.

Lord, it’s time, and so beyond time, to surrender to Your will and trust in Your promise to give us hope and a future, even during these uncertain times.

You have assured us:

Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.  Psalm 37:3-4

Lord we know that trust in You is foundational for building trust in all our other relationships and for enjoying a satisfying life.  Help us to take time to seek out Your  principles so we can make the best choices today.  Help us to practice faithfulness and integrity in all our affairs.  As we do, we know that You will make good things happen in ways beyond all we could have hoped for or imagined.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.  Romans 15:13

Thank You God for being a reliable source of truth and for Your willingness and faithfulness to communicate that to us until we get it.   Help us to trust You each step of the way today.  Thank you for filling us with hope for our future.  Amen

Well, I pray that we will stay safe and healthy today and that this whole time of an out-of-our-control season of the pandemic will help many to turn their hearts and minds towards the God who is in control.  Have a great day trusting God’s good plan today.
