Praying With Some of God's Amazing Promises To Us

 A couple of times in the past we looked at just a few of the more than 8000 promises hat God has given us in the Bible.  Today we want to look at just a few more and allow them to encourage and comfort us for what we face in this day.

God is good to His word, every time.  If He has said it, plan on it because God will bring it to pass.  It will be in His time and in His way – thankfully – because He knows best – but it will surely happen.

Not only are the things God gives us dependable and good, but they provide help for us as we navigate each day with it’s good of mix and evil, successes and failures, trials and temptations.

Because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires. 2 Peter 1:4

Well Loving God, we thank You for Your care for us and for Your desire to bless us.  You long for us to live with You and receive from You.  Jesus, You said:

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can you, except you abide in me.  I am the vine, you are the branches: He that abides in me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.  John 15:4-5

We want our lives to be fruitful today.  We need all that You are giving us.  Help us to stick with You, to stay close to You, and allow You to give us what we need to do all the things You have in mind for this day. 

You not only want us to have a productive day but You want us to be filled with joy.  You’re not a harsh task master just trying to get as much work out of us as possible.  No, Your heart’s desire is that we would be filled with joy.

These things have i spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.  John 15:11

So, strengthen us to do what You tell us so that Your joy can remain in us and be full in us all day long.  Along with joy you are making great peace available to us – peace with You, peace with others, peace with our own hearts.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:  by whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And hope makes not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who is given unto us Romans 5:1-2, 5

While we don’t know much about the future, we are grateful that we don’t need to live in fear or worry because You’ve promised us that when we live in hope and let Your love fill our hearts, we will not regret it.  You will see us through.

And so today we take hold of these simple promises and we remind ourselves that they are ours because we are Your’s.  We look forward to a wonderful day because You are in charge and we are following You.  Amen
