Praying With The Lord's Prayer

Wednesday September 15, 2021

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Our Father , who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.  We thank You God for Who You are and for the many many expressions of Your purity, Your power, Your control, and Your love in our lives.  We honour You today.  We praise You as the one true God, the creator of us all, Lord of heaven and earth.

We pray for Your rule and reign to have priority in our lives, in the lives of our family and friends, in the governments of our communities and countries.  Things are such a mess when people make laws and live according to their own ideas rather than following Your truth.  We long for Your ways to be expressed in all we desire, plan think, say, do, and enact. Your kingdom come.  Your will be one on earth as it is in heaven.

We can’t begin to know all that we really need today but we do ask for the health and strength and provision of food and clothing and shelter not just for ourselves but also for the millions we see who suffer from poverty and neglect.  Give us this day our daily bread.

We have spiritual needs as well and so we also ask you to forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  Give us the humility to admit our failures and the grace to walk with others in theirs.

Our world is full of things that would drag us into harmful thoughts and practices and so we ask that You would lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  Save us from the work of the evil one who seeks to steal from us, kill, and destroy us.

We recognize that all we are and hope to be comes as a precious gift from Your hand and so we affirm that  Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.
