Praying All Of God's Care For Us

Friday January 28, 2022

Well, one of the favourite scripture passages I thought about sharing with us and praying together with today was the very familiar Psalm 23.  I invite you to enter into the wonderful truths of these words as we speak to God today.

The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Thank you Loving God for being our shepherd.  You know the way before us.  You know what we need and You are faithfully guiding us so we have food and drink and safe places to rest and be at peace with You.  No one cares for us in every way like You do because only You know who we are and what we need.

He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul;

How many times have we come to you frazzled and anxious and angry and worried, and you have led us to still waters.  You’ve restored our souls.  You’ve set our minds at rest and given us the hope and security we needed to settle down and entrust the moment and our future with You.  Thank you for leading us to green pastures, still waters, and for restoring our souls.

He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

We’re useless at making the right and best choices at where we need to take next steps but as we seek Your guidance You show us the path.  You are so dependable to be there at just the right moment in just the right way.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

Lord you’ve been there on many occasions in the dark times of life. Your are there when we struggle, when emotions overwhelm us.  You are there when the way is dark and we don’t know what is going on around us. You are there when we feel afraid.  You are there with comfort, protection, and goodness.  You are just there.  That’s what matters.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

Trouble doesn’t stop You from preparing good things for us.  You pour Your grace and healing and blessing into our hearts until we are overflowing – filled up over and over again.    You’ve done it so many times that we are now convinced that:

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

No matter what the future holds Lord, we can trust that You will be there.  You will be with us  You will be filling us with goodness.  You will be showing us the way forward.  You will be inviting us to be at home with You every day, just resting.  We thank You.  We bless You. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen
