PRAYING FOR CLEAR AND POSITIVE COMMUNICATION
Whether it’s on social media, through e-mails or texts, or by watching the evening news, most of us are looking for communication daily with loved ones and with those who help us understand what is going on in our community.
We have a very positive example of the use of communication for uplifting and life-changing ways in the Bible. Listen to these words
In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. Hebrews 1:1-3
Thank you Heavenly Father that through prophets and wise pastors and teachers among us in many ways and at many times you’ve spoken to us about yourself. But thank you that you were so longing that we would know the depth of your love for us that you sent Jesus.
We’re grateful for the life of Jesus who showed us the generosity of your forgiveness and your healing to all who came to him. We are especially grateful today for the death and resurrection of Jesus because it is through that amazing sacrifice that we are able to be purified from all our sin and have a loving relationship with You that endures forever.
In the middle of these challenging days, we are grateful to know that you are in control and ready to communicate with us all we need for a successful day. We thank you that you are seated, Lord Jesus, at the right hand of God, communicating on our behalf.
We’re grateful that there are so many ways God, that you are exercising grace and kindness and control that we cannot see. Thank You for quietly communicating with us through the Holy Spirit who lives in us. Thank You for speaking to us in the words of the bible, Your living words. It gives us great peace and stability today and we want to thank you for that.
We want to put ourselves in your care again today and be reminded that we are responsible for our communicating as well - what we say and do and how we respond and react to things going on around us. Would you give us hearts and minds that see the good as you want us to see the good and with wisdom and grace accept others as they are, praying for them that they will become more and more like you.
Dear Lord, make us more a praying people than a criticizing and condemning people, no matter how bleak the circumstances are that we are observing. Let that be the structure of our day because we know that you, Lord Jesus, have us in Your loving care. Amen
