SUNDAY REFLECTION ON GOD'S GOODNESS
REFLECTION ON GOD'S GOODNESS
It’s Sunday and we have another opportunity to join our hearts in giving thanks and praise to God for all he’s done for us. God is blessing us in every way. The Bible reminds us:
You bless everyone who lives in your house, and they sing your praises. You bless all who depend on you for their strength and all who deeply desire to visit your temple. Psalm 84:4-5
And now let’s pray for God’s blessing. This isn’t something we have to beg from God. He’s more than willing to pour out good things into our lives. Our part is to simply look up to Him in faith and receive what He is giving.
Thank you for your great love and blessing over our lives. Thank you that your favor has no end. It lasts for our entire lifetime. We want to walk in your blessing and goodness today. We long to see Your face that is shining on us. As Your Word reminds us:
How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord of Heaven’s Armies. I long, yes, I faint with longing to enter the courts of the Lord. Psalm 84:1-2
When You live in us, wherever we are, You are and You make this day and our lives lovely because You are with us. You promise to show us a way and to open and shut doors as we progress so we know which way to go and are able to get there.
Jesus said: When I open a door, no one can close it. And when I close a door, no one can open it. Revelation 3:7
We ask You to help us recognize doors today that You open for us and our loved ones. We pray You would keep closed all wrong doors, even if we push against them. We want what You have for us because all that You give us is good. It’s filled with grace and it results in joy and blessing.
For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right. Psalm 84:
And so on this Sunday we take time to think about You, to thank You for who You are and all You do for us, and to ask You to orient us even more clearly in the direction that You have in mind for us.
Establish the work of our hands and bring to fulfillment all that you have given us to do in these days. We pray that you would make our way purposeful and our footsteps firm. We pray all this, confident in Your goodness and love. Amen
Have a lovely Sunday of rest and reflection on the goodness of God.
