JUST FOR TODAY – TAKE NOTE OF ONE HELPFUL THING GOD IS SAYING

What’s important to include in this day? Where should we find our focus?

Just for today I will strengthen my mind.  I will take a few minutes to read and meditate on God’s word, seeking God’s perspective for my life today.  I will take note of one helpful thing God is saying to me and seek to behave accordingly.

How do we do that?  Here’s one way I do it.  Let’s read these words from the Bible and then make them ours.

Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. Psalm 62:5

LET ALL THAT I AM wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. Psalm 62:5– Heavenly Father, we want to make space in our hearts and minds for the peace and blessing You want to give us.  We give up everything that is crowding our minds and bringing uncertainty to our heart.  ALL of it.

Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.  1 Peter 5:7

Let all that I am WAIT QUIETLY before God, for my hope is in Him. Psalm 62:5 – Oh Lord, You know that waiting, and waiting quietly in our hearts and minds - that’s a challenge. We want what we want when we want it.  But we pause just now to wait and listen for Your best plan for this day.  What are You saying and doing?

Be still, and know that I am God!

Psalm 46:10

Let all that I am wait quietly BEFORE GOD, for my hope is in Him. Psalm 62:5 –

We’re so grateful Lord, to know that we don’t wait alone.  We wait with You, the all-loving, all-knowing, all-powerful God who is working on our behalf.  On our own we have lots of reasons to panic and feel burdened and wonder where everything is headed.  But just now we bring ourselves to that place of conscious awareness that we are in Your presence and that God, You are with us in whatever we are in.  Fill us again with Your peace and confidence that seeps into those deep places in our soul and steadies us.

Let all that I am wait quietly before God, FOR MY HOPE IS IN HIM. Psalm 62:5 – Heavenly Father, with assurance we want to echo the words that King David prayed when he said that he was waiting quietly before You because His hope was in You.  You are the place where we find a steady place to stand, focus to see what needs doing today and to be able to do it, knowing that as we seek to live with You, You will work all things for good for us.  As surely as You rose from death after three days, so in the right time, You will do all that is needed in our lives and circumstances as we offer all of it to You and follow Your guidance.  Help to do that today, we pray.  Amen.
