Someone has rightly said, "If you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem." Successful living for God is about making that transition whenever it is required. What does that look like?
A key word in that slogan is "part." If God is truly in control of our lives then we always need to make space for Him to do His part while we actively engage in the part He asks us to do. Anything else gets in the road of the good plans God has.
Call out to me when trouble comes. I will save you and you will honor me.
Psalm 50:15
If any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He will give it to you. God gives freely to everyone and doesn’t find fault.
James 1:5
Fear and pride often show up in the middle of a difficult situation and, if we allow them to govern our thinking process, the problem only gets worse. God has a solution for our trouble that is better than anything our fearful minds could conjure up.
Our first response to any problem should be to call out to God, ask Him for wisdom, and find out what our part is in bringing about a solution. Sometimes we will have a major role in the solution and at other times we will need to simply wait and watch God work.
One of the hardest lessons to put into practice is that of letting go and giving God a chance to demonstrate that He has a solution. We lack confidence in the waiting process and our impatience often brings added complications.
I will give you words of wisdom. None of your enemies will be able to withstand them or prove them wrong.
Luke 21:15
I am sure that your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.
Psalm 23:6
Loving God, help us to truly trust Your wisdom today as we face problem situations around us. Help us to get to know Your ways by reading Your word, seeking good counsel from sponsors and mentors, and praying to be conscious of Your will and to receive the power to carry it out.
At every point we want our actions to be part of the solution to any difficulty rather than the creation of more problems. We surrender our thoughts and plans, our desires, our frustrations, all our problems into your care and choose to live in peace, knowing You are in control and Your wise plans are so much better than any solutions we could conjure up on our own. Amen
