CLEAN AND FRESH

What comes to mind when you hear the words, “clean and fresh?”  I can think of:

- sheets hung out to dry on the clothesline in the back yard when I was growing up.

- evening showers after hot summer days in Taiwan

- biting into a cold crisp apple just out of the fridge

Many images come to mind for all of us I’m sure when we think of “clean and fresh.” 

Three clean and fresh things I love about today:

1.God is loving us with a clean and fresh love.

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. Lamentation 3:22-23

2.  God is ready to clean us up and make us fresh right now. 

Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.  Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.  Palm 51:10, 12

3.  God actually has chosen us to show the world what clean and fresh looks like.  We can be God’s picture of clean and fresh today.

I will use you to show the nations that I am holy.  I will sprinkle clean water on you and make you clean … I will give you a new heart and a new mind. I will take away your stubborn heart of stone and give you an obedient heart. I will put my spirit in you and will see to it that you follow my laws and keep all the commands I have given.   Ezekiel 36:23, 25-27

Loving God, it’s a fresh moment no matter what time of day it is on the clock.  We thank you for Your love for us that is fresh and clean today.  Wash our hearts and minds from all that has polluted us.  We need to live life Your way. 

Thank You for Jesus who died for us on the cross so we could experience this washing and being forgiven  and made fresh and new today.

Show Your beauty and purity through us today.  How You can do that, we don’t know, but You said that is what You would do, so we are available.  Amen

What comes to mind when you hear the words, “clean and fresh?”  I encourage you to go and look in the mirror because what You see there is God’s plan to give everyone a vision of clean and fresh – Yes!  Through you!!
