Who Holds Everything Together?

 BEGINNING AND THE END

We spoke yesterday about essentials and I just wanted to secure our thoughts there a bit more today.

One more essential that gives us comfort is this:

God is the beginning and the end of all things and holds everything in between.  

I am the Alpha and the Omega says the Lord,

who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

Revelation 1:8

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Hebrews 13:8

We’re so grateful God, that You are the who is, the one who was, and the one who is to come, the Almighty.  Nothing is going to change that.  That truth puts everything else in our lives into perspective and fills our hearts with a settledness that nothing else around us can.

The next essential foundation of secure living today is that God’s love is unfailing.  We may fail at some point today – well, if you are me it’s more like, when I do fail today.  How comforting to know that though we fail God, God will not fail us.

If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, for he cannot deny who he is.

2 Timothy 2:13

Loving God, we are thankful that when we fail you have promised us forgiveness through Jesus.  Where we feel distant and alone You bring us close to You and one another through Jesus.  Jesus Christ is the same in us and for us – yesterday, today, and forever.  We allow our hearts to be settled in this solid truth.

For this God is our God forever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.

Psalm 48:14

And so once again today we give You thanks that You are with us every day, that You are watching over us with great attention to every detail of our lives, and that You are journeying with us, making all Your amazing power available to us to face whatever challenges come our way. Amen
