Advent 3 Saturday – Joyful Christmas Tradition

Saturday December 17, 2022

What Christmas traditions do you have that bring you joy?  Here’s one of my favourites.

These are some of the lovely women from St. Simon’s Church in North Vancouver.  They welcomed me in 1994 and a whole lot of my friends over the years.

They’ve prayed for Partners in Hope and supported us with work they’ve done, parcels they’ve helped us wrap and distribute, and been such caring and strong women who’ve stood with us through all these decades.

They are wonderful examples of how to live out these words:

Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.

Hebrews 10:24

Each year we gather now for a time to sing some carols and tell stories of lovely Christmas memories.  It’s definitely one of my favourite times of the Christmas season.

Loving God, thank you for faithful friends who love us and who consistently remind us of Your loving kindness.

We pray that we too would carry that witness forward this year and in the coming years.  Help us to think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.

Thank You for Jesus who gives us the clearest example and who fills us with His Holy Spirit so we can live out this good plan for our lives.

Giving Hope

Partners in Hope is supported wholly by our friends and community. We are thankful to everyone who partners with us to help bring hope to the discouraged, hurting, and hopeless.
