What To Do On Troublesome Days

 TROUBLESOME DAYS

There are seasons in life where it seems like everywhere we look we encounter trouble.  Things aren’t working out the way we thought they would.

People we considered friends are not acting friendly towards us.  We feel tired and discouraged.  We long for things to change.

I think the person writing these prayerful words to God that we find in the Bible was probably experiencing a similar kind of season in His life.

My soul faints with longing for your salvation, but I have put my hope in your word.

My eyes fail, looking for your promise; I say, “When will you comfort me?”  How long must your servant wait?  When will you punish my persecutors?

All your commands are trustworthy; help me … In your unfailing love preserve my life, that I may obey he statutes of your mouth.

Psalm 119:81-82, 84, 86, 88

So, when we seem to see troubles on every side, what are we to do?  Where are we to find comfort and help?

God’s word reassures us that His love is unfailing, His guidance is trustworthy, and His power is more than enough for us in our times of weakness.

When we are concerned about the way things are going we can cry out to God for help.  He will calm our fears and assure us that He is in control.

New thoughts and solutions often come to mind as God shows us how to proceed.  Most of all, when our minds are turned towards God, He strengthens us to stay on a good course rather than taking a bad turn.

Loving God, Help us to know and live troublesome days as a time to walk the talk and trust Your faithfulness to help and support us.

You will meet us in our time of need.  You will take us forward.  Together with You, God, we will find solutions.  These days will pass, and we will be able to praise You  that we stayed the course with Your help.

Thank  You that You are always with us and will work all things together for our good and Your glory.  Amen
