Filled With God's Joy At All Times
Filled With God’s Joy At All Times
Even though Lent is meant to be a time of solemn reflection we still need to hear these words from our Heavenly Father.
Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength. Nehemiah 8:10
Loving Heavenly Father, we stand before You today to ask that You fill us with strength – strength to complete the tasks before us, whether little or big; also strength of heart to stick with You through challenges and difficulties.
Fill us with Your joy, the joy in Your goodness and Your dependable presence that is ours to experience every day.
Make us strong in Your joy as Jesus was strong in Your joy so He was able to endure the cross on our behalf.
He [Jesus] paid no attention to the shame of the cross. He suffered there because of the joy he was looking forward to. Then he sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2
We know we have sinned and broken Your heart with our stubborn ways that neglect Your heart, but we trust Your promise to forgive us when we turn away from all that’s gone wrong and turn to You for forgiveness and cleansing. We do that today and ask for the joy that comes with it.
Give me back the joy that comes from being saved by you. Give me a spirit that obeys you so that I will keep going.
Psalm 51:12
And so we will walk on with You today, on the path o life that You show us because as we do that, You fill us with joy for now and will do so forever with You in heaven.
You always show me the path of life. You will fill me with joy when I am with you. You will make me happy forever at your right hand.
Psalm 16:11
Well on this Fourth Sunday of Lent, let’s have a day of joy.
