Learning From A Hero
I listened to an interview of Corrie Ten Boom on Youtube recently. What difficult times she went through during the Nazi occupation of Holland during the Second World War, the capture and imprisonment of herself and her family for helping Jews escape the Holocaust, and then her own time in prison and a concentration camp.
She lost her father, her brother, her sister, and a nephew during that time of imprisonment and her stories of the brutal treatment and conditions she was forced to live with need to awaken us to all that we have and are blessed with today.
Corrie Ten Boom travelled the world for many years telling her story and the love of Jesus for her in that story. The movie “The Hiding Place” was produced that told the story of her as the watchmakers daughter and prisoner.
So many statements she made reveal her great love for Jesus and her trust in His goodness to her. I thought we’d reflect on just 2 or 3 of those statements today.
“Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow, it empties today of its strength.” Corrie Ten Boom
Cast all your anxiety on him [God] because he cares for you.
1 Peter 5:7
We give our worries and our cares to You, God, because You care for us.
Nothing is too great for His almighty Power.
Nothing is too small for His LOVE.
Corrie ten Boom
Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies.
Psalm 36:5
Fill our hearts with your great love that masters every problems and touches every pain.
There is no panic in Heaven! God has no problems, only plans.
― Corrie Ten Boom
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11
We will walk confidently with You into the future You have planned for us.
Well friends, let’s have a great day.
