 PROMISES OF GOD

We’ve spoken before about God’s promises to us but since by one count there are 3573 promises in the Bible from God to us I figure we have a few more that are worth our attention.

As we begin, let’s remind ourselves of the benefits of those promises

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.

 2 Peter 1:3-4

We get everything we need for living a Godly life.  We get to share in His divine nature and we get to escape from the corruption all around us caused by human desires.

So what are some of those promises that help us today?

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you.

Isaiah 54:10

What an amazing place to start, God, with Your unfailing love.  We’re so grateful that nothing that happens around us can shake us from Your compassion and peace.  Help us again today to see through the events and challenges of daily life and look up to You, receiving from You the strength and stability and peace You are making available to us today.

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

James 1:5

Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise.

Proverbs 1:23

So, here we are Lord, lacking wisdom but asking for it from You who promise to give it generously to us, without finding fault.  You promise that You will share Your heart with us and make us wise giving us success and being our shield.

Lord, help us moment by moment to do our part and to come to You, giving You an opportunity to download that practical wisdom to us in a moment, in a conversation, in a task.

Our heart’s cry today is that we would live as your chosen people, your royal priests, your holy nation, Your very own possession so that we can show others your goodness as we demonstrate how You have called us out of the darkness into Your wonderful light.

You are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

1 Peter 2:9

Let’s have a great day living with the promises of God.
