Living Today With Assurance

I don’t know what songs you sing when you attend church.  There are many wonderful hymns and worship songs that remind us how wonderful God is and what a joy it is for us to be in relationship with Him.

A traditional hymn that is a great favorite of mine and that I sang so many times years ago is the hymn “Blessed Assurance.”

I’ve said so many times that I don’t know how people who don’t know the care and guidance of God is ready and waiting for them when they wake up each morning find the strength to face the day.

There are just too many complicating things in our lives and in the world around us. 

I find such comfort and strength from the reality that I have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that makes my life in this day make sense, AND the hope of eternity in heaven with Jesus forever to look forward to.

Look at these verses:

Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

Revelation 21:3-4

That’s what this song is saying when we sing it:

Thank You God for the joy, the peace, the assurance we carry with us in this day that you are with us, giving us rest, filling us with hope as we look forward to an unknown but certain future with You forever.

Come and work in our lives today so with the songwriter we can say:

Perfect submission, all is at rest

I in my Savior, am happy and blessed
