Finding Strength For Today - Where?

 Strength

When’s the last time you felt like you were drooping like a dried out plant in the heat?  Maybe you feel like that right now.  What I know today that gives me encouragement is this:

My health fails; my spirits droop, yet God remains! He is the strength of my heart; he is mine forever! Psalm 73:26

Oh Lord, how well You know us and all the circumstances we face each day.  Thank you for being our strength, particularly during the times our spirits droop.  You are faithful.  You are with us.  You will carry us through.  And you even encourage us further when you tell us:

“My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

2 Corinthians 12:9

We’re not often grateful for the weaknesses we experience either emotionally or physically but we are grateful for your promise, God, that your grace is all we need and even for the fact that your power works best in our weakness.  Help us to not be distracted by our weaknesses but to allow them to simply point us to you so we can welcome your power to work through us.

Tell everyone about God’s power. His majesty shines down on Israel; his strength is mighty in the heavens. God is awesome in his sanctuary. The God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God!

Psalm 68:34-35

Over and over again in history we see where you gave strength to you people and there’s no reason for you to change that today.  We open our hearts and lives to all you want to do in us and through us today and with Paul, who wrote these words while he was unjustly imprisoned we say:

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

Philippians 4:13

Let’s lean into God’s strength today.  Have a great day.
