You Are Noticed Where It Matters

So glad we can spend a few moments together each day.

I know there are many of you who never get noticed for the faithful way you serve others around you.  So, let me encourage you today.  Even though those who should be noticing and appreciating all you are doing are not doing that, your efforts are not going unnoticed.

God clearly tells us this:

“Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven.  But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.  Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.

Matthew 6:1, 3-4

God sees you.  God knows what you’ve been doing so faithfully.  Don’t be discouraged.  Don’t give up.  The God, who sees everything, will reward you.

What started me thinking about this today was one of those “boring bits” that I was reading in the Bible that is telling names of this person and that one.  It’s all people who were in service to King David – someone very famous. 

Gathered around David many warriors and most famously, three mighty warriors. Then there are 2 men mentioned whose names are not exactly household names – Abishai and Benaiah who did more than those famous 3, yet we are told they were not counted among the famous ones.

… was more honored than the other members of the Thirty, though he was not one of the Three.

 2 Samuel 23:23

Yet here I am thousands of years later reading about the amazing way they supported their king and did what was asked of them each day, even at risk of life and limb.  I’m encouraged by it and learning from their example.  I think God saw and appreciated their work, don’t you?

My point, thank you, dear friends, for all the things you have done and are doing, particularly what’s not been noticed by anyone else even though you’ve been at it for a long time and inconvenienced yourself, and maybe even worn yourself out sometimes doing it. 

Your Heavenly Father has put it on my heart today to tell you that He has seen it all. You have made His heart glad.  He has recorded it all and the reward is on the way.

Thank you God for faithful people who serve behind the scenes and never give up.  Bless them today.  Encourage them.  Give them grace to continue with what You have given them to do today, no matter who does or doesn’t notice.  Amen

Now, I do encourage you to do one thing.  Take a moment.  Sit down and have a cup of tea or coffee or whatever and just let the appreciation of God fill your mind and heart for couple of minutes.
