God Could And Would If He Were Sought
POWER TO SAVE
Many of us reach out to God only when we are seeking help because something in life has become too much for us to bear.
We hear from others that God “could and would help us if He were sought.” We're often not so sure about God and His desire to help. We're just broken and desperate and know we can't manage on our own. We are just searching for something that actually works.
Even though God created us in love and watched as we turned our backs on His kindness, He still pursues us with His love. When we call out to God, He is willing to show us the way we should go.
As we begin to walk with God we begin to experience a peace that brings contentment in what were previously troubled areas of our thinking and feeling. We learn to find serenity in accepting the things we cannot change and receive courage from God to change the things we can.
I take joy in doing your will, my God, for your instructions are written on my heart. I have told all your people about your justice. I have not been afraid to speak out, as you, O Lord, well know. I have not kept the good news of your justice hidden in my heart; I have talked about your faithfulness and saving power. Psalm 40:8-10
Loving God, sometimes we’re almost afraid to allow In allow peace and joy into our hearts because we are fearful that things might once again fall apart.
We want to grow in our trust and in our experience of seeing how You works all things together for our good. Help us to really lean into the truth that Your word is right and that You are faithful in all You say and do.
Thank you for the settled heart and mind You give us as we put our trust in You. We are grateful for Your encouragement, forgiveness, and help in sorting out what is right and true in all our circumstances. Amen
Well, let’s give God a chance to work His goodness in us by trusting Him with something we’ve previously tried to sort out on our own and see how “God could and would if He were sought.” Have a great day.
