When we walk with God He promises us a much better life than we ever thought possible. Living as forgiven people, accepting healing when we feel hurt helps us to recognize God’s presence filling our hearts with peace and joy. We realize this life is very precious and better than anything we’ve ever experienced.
Do good to your servant according to your word, Lord. Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands. Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word.
You are good, and what you do is good; teach me your decrees.
The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.
Psalm 119:65-68, 72
Too many of us on too many occasions live uncaring self-centered lives and our hearts became callous and unfeeling. As we walk with God we learn that security in life comes from reaching out and caring for others. Sure, it requires boundaries and limits to be established, so our behaviour and that of others builds up rather than tears down.
Though we sometimes struggle with God’s way of disciplined choices and balanced living, we believe, and are assured that as we continue to surrender to His ways, we will experience the overflowing goodness of God in our lives.
He forgives your sins—every one. He heals your diseases—every one. He redeems you from hell—saves your life! He crowns you with love and mercy—a paradise crown. He wraps you in goodness—beauty eternal. He renews your youth—you’re always young in his presence. God makes everything come out right; he puts victims back on their feet.
Psalm 103:3-6
Loving God, Thank You for today, another opportunity to remember how good You are and how generous Your heart is towards us, particularly when we remember that You sent Jesus into the world to die for our sins so that we could have eternal life.
You are a tender loving God and You have demonstrated how much You care for us and how much You long for us to have a truly good life.
Along with the writer of this Psalm we really do pray that You would teach us knowledge and good judgment today and help us to obey Your commands.
Please strengthen our resolve to follow You in all our ways. Amen
Let’s enjoy the good life God is giving us today.
