 LET’S HAVE A PARTY

How many of us have fallen to places in life where we never thought we would have allowed ourselves to be?  Then, thankfully, in a moment of clarity, we saw what we had become and were shocked. 

Family or friends who knew us well may have encouraged us to get help to change our thoughts or our behaviours.  Too often we ignore that advice and if we’re not careful, we just sink deeper and deeper into whatever the hardships are we are experiencing. 

As with so many others, it seems that only when the chaos and pain reaches an out-of-control level for us do we actually call out to the Lord.  Amazingly, at those times our Loving God is willing and ready and able to respond to our cry. 

I was pushed back and about to fall, but the Lord helped me. The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous:

“The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things! The Lord’s right hand is lifted high; the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!” I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done. The Lord has chastened me severely, but he has not given me over to death.

Psalm 118:13-18

Heavenly Father, In these moments we can look back and see how You have lifted us up.  When our way seemed dark and slippery You’ve held our hand in Yours and guided us to a place where we could be safe. 

As truth replaces our distorted belief system, our faith in You is growing and we are becoming stronger in body, mind, and spirit.  We are being healed and restored. 

Thank You for giving us what we need to overcome both the wrongs done to us and the wrongs done by us.  You have not allowed us to be buried under our difficulties but have come to live in us by the power of Your Spirit and now we can proclaim to others the great things You have done for us.

Jesus said there is a party in heaven every time one lost soul turns their will and their life over to God.  Thank you for inviting us to that party.  Help us to now live so others can hear and respond to that same party invitation from You.  Amen

Well, let’s reflect on the great party going on today for all who turn to God and for the amazing party that will we will be a part of forever in heaven when we arrive there thanks to the generosity of Jesus.
