GOD'S PERFECT TIMING
GOD’S PERFECT TIMING
The following Psalm is one that in many ways expresses the emotions we so often feel when we are dealing with things that seem beyond us and threatening to overwhelm us.
God, save me. My troubles are like a flood. I’m up to my neck in them. I’m sinking in deep mud. I have no firm place to stand. I am out in deep water. The waves roll over me. I’m worn out from calling for help. My throat is very dry. My eyes grow tired looking for my God.
Those who hate me without any reason are more than the hairs on my head. Many people who don’t have any reason to be my enemies are trying to destroy me…God, you know how foolish I’ve been. My guilt is not hidden from you.
Psalm 69: 1-5
Like the writer of this Psalm, we have admitted that sometimes we were in trouble because we had been foolish. Now we are overwhelmed with the consequences of our choices. We’ve not hidden those facts from God.
The next positive move we can take is to make a decision to turn our will and life over to the care of God. When we call out to God, even if we are feeling confused by all that is happening, He hears us and helps us get the urgent help we need.
God knows the beginning and the end of the plan He has for our lives. When we walk in His ways, His timing will prove to be perfect for everything that helps achieve His plan and purpose for our lives.
The faithful model for all this is God’s great plan. At just the right time Jesus came and died for us. At just the right time He will come again to take all of us to heaven who wait in hope for Him.
In the same way, Christ was offered up once. He took away the sins of many people. He will also come a second time. At that time he will not suffer for sin. Instead, he will come to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Hebrews 9:28
Heavenly Father, At just the right time You always do just the right thing. When we are impatient for You to act on our behalf in a particular way, help us to remember that You continue to work according to Your perfect will for our lives and Your great plan of salvation.
Thank you for hearing our prayers today, for caring about what we face, and for acting on our behalf. Amen
I’m so grateful God knows more than I do and so can act in a much more informed and helpful way. Let’s trust Him in that way today, shall we?
