Help In Our Weakness

 Amazing Offer

Well, get ready.  I have some of the most comforting and encouraging words from the Bible for us to be lifted up with today.  See if you don’t agree with me.

The Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. 

Romans 8:26-28

Didn’t I tell you?  We are helped in our weakness, given words to our prayers when we don’t even know what to say or ask, and promised that whether we get it right or not, whether things go as they should in our circumstances or not, God will work it all together for good – all of it. All things will work together for good. 

Now if that doesn’t take the pressure off us, then we simply are choosing to not believe what God says.  And unfortunately, I have to admit that it’s a challenge for me to trust these amazing words at certain points in certain situations.  You probably have experienced that as well. 

In other places in the Bible God promises us:

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go.  I will counsel you and watch over you. 

Psalm 32:8

The Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a well watered garden, and like a spring of water  Isaiah 58:11

Oh Lord, yesterday we were praying, “Lord I believe, help my unbelief” and we feel the need to pray that again today.  These statements seem almost too good to be true.  We are so twisted in our thinking by our culture that has us believing that we have to be “self-made” and if anything is going to happen we have to do it. 

Lord today, help us to slow down and pay attention to Your guidance that is there for us continually.  When we don’t even know what to pray, help us to just stop and be present to You and give the Holy Spirit permission and opportunity to say what needs saying. 

Give us faith to believe that You are working for good in everything that’s going on in our lives – whether we see it or not.  You are not a liar.  You are true to Your word. 

Help us to stand strong, stand with humility, and stand with trust in Your power and goodness working on our behalf.  Amen

Aren’t we  grateful that we can live in a loving relationship with God today and don’t have to do today on our own? Let’s relax and enjoy that all day long.
