Pausing After Christmas
We continue to reflect on Christmas during these lovely “in between days.”
These are good days to hear the call of our Creator to stop and rest a while and so we want to do that today.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
John 3:16
Heavenly Father, We thank you for sending your only son for us. May we always be truly thankful for all the sacrifices that You have made for us so our sins could be forgiven and we could enjoy the free gift of eternal life with You.
We pray Lord that You will help us to always remember Your unfailing love for us and then give us the will and the strength to follow your commandments and love one another as You love us. As you tell us in Your Word:
A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
John 13:34
We pray that You will equip each of us with necessary gifts to be effective in our local community in showing Your great love as You created us to do.
Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Psalm 37:4
As we look forward to the coming year we pray that You keep and protect us all. We pray that we will always delight in You, trusting You to give us what our hearts truly desire – and even what we need to recognize what that really is.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Psalm 23:6
We pray that not only in this season but in all seasons, we will open our lives to Your goodness and mercy that is following us every day of our life.
Let your favor always rest upon us and be a shield of protection around us today and throughout 2024. Amen.
Let’s have a wonderful day receiving and giving God’s love and grace.
