We looked at the following verses earlier this year and thought about giving all of our lives to God and waiting patiently for Him to act.
Let’s read these words again and continue to see how to live today and all of this year better, as we live it with God.
Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge.
Psalm 62:5-8
The promise of these verses is that as we surrender all to God and wait quietly before Him, putting all our hope and trust in His goodness that we will experience that God is our refuge – a safe place where no enemy can reach us.
We all long to live above our circumstances, to live with dignity and honour and that’s what God promises to us as we live each day in His care.
Heavenly Father, with assurance we want to echo the words that King David prayed when he said that he was waiting quietly before You because His hope was in You. You alone are our rock and our salvation, our fortress where we will not be shaken.
We don’t know what’s ahead, how and when things will happen, or any of the details but we just know that You are a good God who loves us completely and is and has everything we need to take us through whatever 2024 brings.
Help us to focus on what is real and let all the other distractions and difficult things move to the edge. Fill our hearts again today, we pray, with this great strength and the courage and confidence that result as we live today in that special place – hidden with Christ in God.
For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:3
I don’t know what Your daily practice is but every night as I pray together with a friend on the phone before going to sleep, one of our prayers is this proclamation over our lives, particularly over our conscious, our sub-conscious and our unconscious as we let go of control and allow ourselves to fall asleep in God’s care:
Because of what Jesus has done for us, the devil has no power over us, no place in us, for we are hidden with Christ in God.
A wonderful truth to live in every day. Have a wonderful day.
