Loyalty

Tuesday January 16, 2024

We’re considering today what it means to be loyal to someone.  No one is more loyal to us through the ups and downs of life than our Loving God.

Your love reaches higher than the heavens, and your loyalty extends beyond the clouds.

Psalm 108:4

If we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.

2 Timothy 2:13

Someone who is loyal is dependable and will do what they have committed to.  We too often are only as loyal a convenience takes us.  God wants to grow loyalty in us so that we are those who can be counted on particularly when times are tough.

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

Proverbs 17:17

When we give our will and life over to the care of God, we make a commitment to God and He makes a commitment to us.  God is loyal to fulfill all the promises He makes to us.  Do our actions show loyalty in following the ways of God?

Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

I Corinthians 13:7

Thank You God for today, a fresh opportunity to not just “talk the talk” but to “walk the walk”.  We know that when our lives reflect the kind of love that is behind Your loyalty to us that we will experience the fullness of life we are seeking. We long for that.

So, Heavenly Father, thank You for loving and caring for us, without fail.  Your loyalty never fails and You work everything together for our good.  Help us to be unyielding in our loyalty to You and Your ways in all we do and say.  Amen

Well friends, we can take courage and strength to do that  from God’s unfailing commitment to us:

Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations.

Deuteronomy 7:9

Have a wonderful day.
