No Further Proof Required

In many churches today these words are part of the readings from the Bible that will be heard:

Brothers and sisters: Since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God.

Romans 5:1-2

We are grateful God that You have made peace with us through Jesus and His assuming the punishment for our sins with His death on the cross.  Our simple prayer today is to really stand tall in the grace that has been poured into us through this amazing gift of forgiveness and cleansing.

The writer of these words goes on to say:

And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. For Christ, while we were still helpless, died at the appointed time for the ungodly.

Indeed, only with difficulty does one die for a just person, though perhaps for a good person one might even find courage to die. But God proves his love for us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us.

Romans 5:1-2, 5-8

And that's the amazing thing about this whole process, God, is that it's not because we were good and deserved this action from You but it was while we were still helpless sinners that You took notice of us and acted on our behalf.

How much more proof would we need that You love us and will go to any lengths to have us find a place of peace and rest in Your loving care?

We want to just pause today to not only be grateful but also to just allow the greatness of our salvation seep even deeper into our hearts and motivate all we are and do each day.

Thank You for peace.  Thank You for Your love that keeps us safe.  Thank You for access to Your help and comfort we’ve been given through Jesus.  Thank You for the hope of heaven and eternal life we carry with us every day.  Amen

We have been justified.  We have peace with God.  We have the hope of sharing in the glory of God.  Let’s walk in that joy today.
