Living A Fruitful Life
When we live in God’s Word we are promised a fruitful life.
Jesus said, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that does not produce fruit.
He also trims every branch that produces fruit to prepare it to produce even more. I
am the vine, and you are the branches. If you stay joined to me, and I to you, you will produce plenty of fruit.
But separated from me you won’t be able to do anything.
John 15:1-2, 5
In order to follow God’s principles, we need through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God. Daily reading of the Bible and praying to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus will be the soil in which we can grow in our faith and be strengthened to carry this message to others.
Jesus is the vine and through faith in Him we have been given everything we need to live a meaningful, purposeful life. We are the branches and as we remain in the vine we will grow in our life and bear fruit.
When a baby is born it has everything it needs to be a human but it must be fed and cared for by its caregivers if it is to grow up to be a healthy adult. When we are born again we have everything we need to live a life devoted to God, but if we are to live a fruitful life we must be fed by the Scriptures, cared for by our Heavenly Father, and supported by the experience , strength and hope of the people God gives us.
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.
2 Peter 1:3
Lord Jesus, the more we look at You and learn from You, the more we understand the faithful promises of God by experience. We want to be nourished by Your Words and Your presence and encouraged by Your promises.
Even though we feel weak and are aware that it’s still way too easy to stray down our own self-willed path, still we trust You when You tell us that You are giving us everything we need today to live a godly life.
Help us to start the day with You, stay connected to You all day long, and look back and reflect on our day this evening, knowing that as we do, we will become the persons we’ve only dreamed we could be. Amen
So today’s promise is the result of us staying connected. Let’s live a fruitful day, a blessed day. There can’t be a better day than that!
