Available

Everywhere we go we continue to see “Help Wanted” or “Hiring for the Team” type of signs.  I don’t know where all the workers went but it doesn’t matter if it is teachers, nurses, or waiters, there seems to not be enough help available to get done what needs doing.

It makes me wonder about God’s agenda and what’s not getting done because we are not making ourselves available to do what God has in mind for us, both for our individual satisfaction and for the fulfillment of His great plans.

I love this prayer which is great to pray for ourselves and for everyone because if we make ourselves available to God today and respond well to God’s voice, things that need doing will get done.

We keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of his call. May he give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do.

2 Thessalonians 1:11

To know what God’s will is for our lives, we need to be available to Him through prayer and meditation on His word.  As we build our relationship with God, He will show us His plan and, as we become willing to do what He says, He will give us the will and the desire to bring it to pass.

Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

Heavenly Father, our desire is to know Your will for our lives today and then to make ourselves available, 100% to what You show us.

We know that on our own we are still pretty polluted with our own self-will and our own self-centered desires and plans so we’re asking You today to continue help us surrender ourselves to You, just as Jesus did, and let His great love and power be at work in us and through us.

With Paul in the Bible we want to be able to say:

It is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. This life that I live now, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave his life for me.

Galatians 2:20

So, what’s our next move in making ourselves available to God, willing to live out His will in all our affairs today?
