Fair and Just

Friday May 17, 2024

When we face troubles and challenges, it's easy to become discouraged and feel sorry for ourselves, especially when things don’t seem to be fair.  Where is God in the middle of all it all?

The Lord is good and does what is right. He shows sinners the right way to live. He teaches his ways to humble people. He leads them with fairness.

Psalm 25:8-9

God has a good plan for our lives and is willing and able to put it into effect.  His priority is that we would come to know Him and have His character developed in us.  God knows that when we live in His way rather than in our own way, we will experience joy and satisfaction.

If we stay focused on what God is asking of us and how God is leading us we will find a good way forward and eventually we will see that not only was it a fair way but it was also filled with blessing we might have missed.

God allows different things in our lives for a variety of reasons.  Sometimes He’s trying to help us get rid of character defects or to make us aware of ways we need to ask for and receive healing.

Because only God knows what’s ahead, He may be putting obstacles in our path that are meant to redirect us to a route that is safer for us.  We see the obstacle to what we want and think it’s unfair we can’t achieve that but God has even better things in mind for us.

Loving God, we dislike problems and life sometimes feels unfair. However, You are good and You always do what is right and fair, to us and for us.  Thank you today for showing us how to live.

We do need to be taught the right way to go and we pray for humility to not only admit that but to accept what that looks like in our circumstances today.

Help us today to keep our focus on You and what You promise rather than on what we see.  Help us to simply do what is right and trust that as we go forward, You will work all things together for our good.  Amen

So that’s the ultimate truth when it comes to fairness and justice that we can lean into today isn’t it?

We know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.

Romans 8:28

Have a great day.
