Optimistic and Joyful

Followers of Jesus should be some of the most optimistic people on the planet as we ground our lives in faith - faith that trusts in God, learns from God, and builds on the promises that God gives in the Bible. 

And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. 

Hebrews 11:6

We can be confident every day that we can live a positive and joyful life even though there will be challenges and even attacks both within and around us.  God works in us to make a satisfying and successful life possible. One of His great promises to us is that, in His strength, we will withstand all attacks.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper.

Isaiah 54:17

We need to believe and receive this truth and allow our minds to be transformed by standing firm on this promise that God has made to us.

But let those who trust in you be happy forever. Protect and strengthen those who love your name.

Psalm 5:11

The Father has loved us so much! This shows how much he loved us: We are called children of God.

1 John 3:1

The mercy of God shown to us is the foundation of our hope, our optimism, and our joy.  His protection and strength give us everything we need to stand tall and stop forward with confidence and joy to face whatever the day brings.

Heavenly Father, We are thankful that through Jesus we can come to You and receive an amazingly satisfying and joyful life each day.  You are our strength, our protection, our wisdom, and our guarantee to success over our challenges.

We want to let optimism and a confident positive outlook on life to be rooted in us,  not because we won’t necessarily face challenges in the near or distant future, but simply because we trust in Your care and Your power to change anything that needs changing. You are with us.  You are for us.  You are the all-powerful God who created this world and us, and You sustain all of it – particularly though the tough times. Amen

So let’s come to God often today to seek His guidance, and then go forward with confidence and joy based on His promise to be with us and to show us a good way forward.
