ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
You can hardly turn anywhere these days without hearing about or reading about AI – artificial intelligence. We hear both how AI is a “game changer” for both better and potentially for incredible harm when used in the wrong way by bad actors.
There are already many ways for individuals to pretend to be someone they are not on social media and exploit their victims. I’m guessing that is only going to increase.
In light of that, I’m giving thanks today for the completely reliable source of truth that we have in Jesus Christ.
The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
Hebrews 1:3
No one can change the fact that God is God and that God is in control of all that is going on. In His time and in His way, God sent His Son Jesus to show us what He was like, how kind and love and generous and forgiving He is, and to help us find life and prepare for a future with God in eternity.
Jesus has done all that was needed for our salvation and the establishment of an unbreakable relationship with our Heavenly Father. If you see or hear anything else, it’s not only artificial, but it’s also not intelligent.
God’s invitation to us today is to come to Him and receive wisdom that is far superior and far more reliable than anything AI can generate.
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
James 1:5
And so today, Loving and all-wise God, we come to You for Your help and truth in the middle of a complicated world. We pray for those who are working to develop AI that they will have their hearts and minds turned towards You so this technology can be useful and not harmful.
Bottom line though, we are relying on You and Your Holy Spirit who has come to live in us to guide us to truth each day in each issue, including AI. Keep us simple and settled in You each moment of today so we can say, along with the writer of this Bible verse:
For in him we live and move and have our being.
Acts 17:28
Amen
So I wonder what we’ll be saying about AI a year from now. I know that we’ll only have good things to say about God’s wisdom if we live by it each day. Have a great day doing that today.
