Light For A better Life

Today’s words from the Bible encourage us to have hope as we seek a better life.  Even though we are determined to walk a good path with God, we hear the voice of the enemy tempting us back to our old way of thinking and operating. 

However, we have God’s promise that He will help us stand firm in Christ.  Thankfully, God’s promises are unlike our promises.  His promises are trustworthy and reliable.

Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path. I’ve promised it once, and I’ll promise it again: I will obey your righteous regulations.

I have suffered much, O Lord; restore my life again as you promised. Lord, accept my offering of praise, and teach me your regulations. My life constantly hangs in the balance, but I will not stop obeying your instructions.

Your laws are my treasure; they are my heart’s delight. I am determined to keep your decrees to the very end. 

Psalm 119:105-109, 111-112

As we walk forward, one step at a time, we need to keep our focus on the Lord, allowing His word to bring light to our path.  We will find, as we continue to journey with the Lord and follow His instructions, that His way is perfect.  We will experience the good life, even joy.

We don’t need to understand everything today.  God will teach us as we go.  The pathway to peace is found in persevering and following God’s righteous regulations to the very end.  God’s laws become the treasure we seek and our heart’s delight.

Heavenly Father, We may not be able to see too far ahead of us, but we certainly have light for our next step and Your loving presence accompanying us.  Help us to stick with you even when the going is tough.

We affirm again today that in your light, we will see light, for You are the light of the world.  Please help us to know You more and follow Your ways in all our affairs.  Amen
