Nothing Is Too Difficult

Friday September 27, 2024

Being diligent and following through – we sometimes wonder if we have what it takes to actually live that way.

Well, I bumped into some familiar verses that give me hope these days.

Lord God, you created heaven and earth by your great power and outstretched arm; nothing is too hard for you!  Great and mighty God, whose name is the Lord of heavenly forces, marvelous are your purposes, and mighty are your deeds.  I am the Lord, the God of all living things! Is anything too hard for me?

Jeremiah 32:17, 18b-19, 27

Aren’t you glad that nothing is too hard for God?

Jeremiah, the man who wrote those words, was a prophet who had to give difficult messages from God to the people who were living in rebellion against God.

They would have to experience suffering hardship because of their disobedience but God reassured them that He would be kind to them and He had the power to do so no matter how difficult things looked to them.

We can be just as stubborn and disobedient as anyone we read about in the Bible and it is such good news that even though we can land ourselves in pretty harsh circumstances, nothing is too hard for God, in order to rescue us and set us on a good path again.

And so Loving God, we  surrender ourselves to You.  We are Your people.  You are our God.  We want you to do Your work in us today that will give us one heart and one mind so that we may follow You all the days of our lives, for our own good and for the good of the generations to come after us.

You are such a gracious and kind God and so we take heart in Your promise to be gracious to us, even though we stumble and go astray.

We want to allow the amazement of the truth that nothing is too hard for You to come alive in us as we seek to walk with You today and to get things right.

We turn our will and our life over to Your care again today.  We will endure with You.  We will follow through with Your plans for our lives.  Amen

What difficulties come to mind when we think about God’s promise that “Nothing is too hard for me.”  Why not take a few minutes and just speak to God about these things and remind ourselves in God’s presence that even this is not too hard for God.
