Save Me For I Am Yours
SAVE ME, FOR I AM YOURS
We continue today to think about God’s faithfulness that we can hang onto when times are tough.
Today we remember God’s faithfulness and remind ourselves that for that faithfulness to be our experience we have to turn from self-will and surrender our will, our life, including challenging circumstances into God’s care and follow the way He shows us to go.
Your word, Lord, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens. Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures. Your laws endure to this day, for all things serve you.
If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life. Save me, for I am yours; I have sought out your precepts.
Psalm 119:89-94
God takes delight in walking with us no matter what our day brings. This fact enrages the evil one and each day he is waiting and looking for ways to destroy this relationship. Alone, we are no match for the wicked one. However, in the care and protection of God we have infinite power available to us. God in us is able to make us stand firm in vulnerable times.
Our only claim to this amazing security is that we belong to God. Have we come into a living relationship with God by putting our trust in Jesus Christ and receiving forgiveness for the many ways we have lived in rebellious self-will?
We are not perfect, and we never will be, but as we choose to honour God in all our affairs we will experience His faithfulness and unfailing love.
We’ll keep today’s prayer on a personal level because this relationship with God has to be established by each of us individually.
Heavenly Father, I want to be sure that I belong to You. Forgive me for my rebellious ways. Come into my heart and give me new life as Your precious child. Thank you for adopting me and empowering me to live in relationship with You.
Take me through whatever the day brings. Help me to seek and follow Your will in all my affairs today. Amen
During difficult times it’s always a good idea to do a little inventory. What’s going on? How am I reacting? Have I asked for God’s help? Have I given my will and this situation into God’s care? Let’s do that as often as we need to today.
