Don't Miss The Meaning
DON’T MISS THE MEANING
During the Christmas season we celebrate Jesus coming into the world as a baby who was born from His mother Mary. In our celebration of Jesus earthly birth, how many of us have taken time to understand and give thanks that this same Jesus already existed with God prior to being sent into the world to save it?
Jesus, the creator of the world, set aside His divine nature and came willingly to earth to take on human nature so that He could offer Himself as a sacrifice for the sin of the world. He came into the world and there was not even room for him at the Inn.
The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:9-12
Many people, and perhaps even we ourselves, are so pre-occupied with Christmas activities that we ignore the real purpose for the celebration. Some may be exhausted by the extra demands of the season and others may struggle with loneliness because they are unable to join family gatherings.
But for us today, wherever we are and whoever we’re with, let’s take the opportunity to intentionally spend time with God.
Jesus, Prince of Peace, we invite You into our lives. Fill our thoughts and our hearts with Yourself. Help us to receive a fresh and deeper experience of Your great love for us.
Fill this season with direction and meaning as we reflect on Jesus and then seek to reflect His goodness in our thoughts and activities.
We don’t want to miss any of the good things You gave so richly for us to experience. Heavenly Father, Thank You for the gift of Jesus, our Saviour, born for us and for the whole world. What an amazing gift that is ours for the receiving. Amen
It’s time to stop fretting about things and truly celebrate Jesus, for He is Immanuel, God with us.
