Merry Christmas 2024
Christmas Day
Merry Christmas! God has come to our planet. That’s a great reason to celebrate. Jesus was born at the time, in the place, and to the people God planned from before creation.
Throughout time God sent signs so people could recognize Him as God come to save them. Some did. Some didn’t. The fact is, God has come. God is here. God is with us.
The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.
Isaiah 7:14
We are significant people because of our connection to God through Jesus Christ, whose birth we celebrate today. Our relationships are significant as well and it is in the love and forgiveness of God that we can build healthy and life-giving relationships that can last a lifetime.
Each family member is unique and we have to learn how to understand and appreciate the individual personalities of one another. God teaches us how to not only be ourselves but how to live with others well.
Yet I was the one who taught Israel to walk. I took my people up in my arms, but they did not acknowledge that I took care of them. I drew them to me with affection and love. I picked them up and held them to my cheek; I bent down to them and fed them.
Hosea 11:3-4
Jesus came to earth to live as a baby, a boy, a teenager, an apprentice with is carpenter father, Joseph, and then as a model and teach of God’s love before giving His life on the cross as our Saviour and Redeemer.
Heavenly Father, The coming of Jesus to our world, and to us, is a powerful witness to the truth that our ordinary and simple lives matter to You, the God who created us.
Thank You that when we turn to You, we are assured of Your love for us and Your acceptance of us through Your son Jesus. His birth changes everything for us. Our lives have meaning and purpose because of Jesus.
On this Christmas Day we just pause to thank You for the greatest of all Christmas gifts. Help us to live in gratitude and joy, not just today but going forward as we align our living step by step with You. Amen
Well, what a day of good news! Immanuel. God is with us. Have a blessed and happy Christmas celebration.
