The Law That Makes The Difference

 DISCOVERING TRUTH

If we hold something in our hand and then let go of it, it will drop to the ground.  It doesn’t matter if it is large or small, light or heavy, it will drop.  Why?  The law of gravity on earth is in operation. 

Has the law of gravity always been around? Yes.  But it wasn’t until the 1600’s that a scientist named Sir Isaac Newton described it and then Albert Einstein in the early 1900’s more accurately helped us understand it through his theory of relativity.

Scientists did not invent gravity.  They just observed how it worked and then made use of the truth of the principle in various applications.

The heavens proclaim the glory of God.  The skies display his craftsmanship.  For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky.

Through everything God made they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature.  So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

The God who created this earth and put natural laws in place has also given us spiritual laws that are in operation. 

Getting to know God’s spiritual laws for us is important to our own growth and development.  To flourish we have to live according to truth  rather than trying to go against it. 

We know that stepping off a balcony on the 4th floor will lead to serious injury or even death because of gravity.  In a similar way, we will sustain injury and sometimes even death when we live in ways that go against the laws of God. 

Loving God, we want to get to know and put into practice the safe and caring principles You have established for successful and satisfying living. 

Thank You for the Bible, the ultimate manual for knowing what is true and reliable.  Help us to recognize  truth but not stop there, but actually adjust our thoughts and actions based on the spiritual laws You’ve set in motion.   affairs.
