Feb 2– It’s In The Details

I don’t know if you grew up with the phrase, “The devil is in the details” and it meant that you better do your proper research and know what you needed to know so you wouldn’t face trouble ahead.

I’m so grateful that we can come to God who knows all the details and who promises to direct us safely forward:

Psalm 37:23 reminds us - The Lord directs the steps of the godly.  He delights in every detail of their lives.

Aren’t we blessed that our needs never overwhelm God.  He has the time.  He is giving attention.  He’s longing for us to come with all the details of our emotions, our relationships, our finances, our kids, our uncertainties – anything – he cares for us and delight to help us.

1 Peter 5:7 - Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.

So, let’s pray and bring our lives to this God who is attentive to our cries and delighting in the details of our current situation.

Loving Heavenly Father,  we are so glad we can come to you today confident that you are interested in us and in all the details of our lives.  We’ve always needed your help but we’re just made more conscious of our need during uncertain times.

Thank you that your care is constant even when our attention to you and your thoughts and plans wanders here and there.  Thank You God that for today and every day going forward You have given us everything we need.

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.  2 Peter 1:3-4

You are the God of the details and we invite You into all the details of our lives, our relationships, our work and play.  Help us to know You better so we hear Your voice well, avoid things that are wrong and harmful, and come more and more to share in all that is of You.  Amen
