We live in a time of instant judgment, lots of condemnation on social media and I fear, more than our fair share of misunderstanding of what is really going on. Ever been in a situation where you felt like you wished someone knew your side of the story?
Here’s great news for all of us today. Jesus knows the way to please our Heavenly Father and He knows the way humans displease Him. And Jesus, every day, is watching over us and praying for us. What a privilege it is for us to have someone who knows both sides of the life God has called us to praying for us.
Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. Romans 8:34
Jesus tells us to live to please our Heavenly Father, knowing that we can’t manage it on our own, but then promising that He will be there for us and work in us so we can succeed. He will take care of meeting all our needs.
For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him. Philippians 2:13
God’s ways are different from our ways but God is more than ready to help us understand His good ways so we can live well today. God, who knows the whole picture behind the circumstances and people we face today is offering us wise counsel and trustworthy guidance.
Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace. Luke 1:78-79
Heavenly Father, we have such a limited view and understanding of what is going on around us and, truthfully, even inside us. We’re so glad that You know all sides of issues we face and You are more than willing to give us light and guide us to the path of peace.
Help us to trust Your love and Your careful guidance even if it seems to counter our understanding of what’s going on. Amen
