Tuesday, February 5, 2013 -- Hope In The Chaos For Me?

Tuesday February 5, 2013

By being blind to the ways of God, either by choice or by not having knowledge of Him, many of us, for a long time, did not ask for, or even desire God's guidance.  We did not want to consider His ways nor learn from Him.  In spite of our long term arrogance and disdain for God, the truth is, God knows us and God cares about us.  God’s ways and thoughts are different from ours and He invites us to look at our life from a new perspective. He invites us to look at what Jesus made available to us by coming to earth to be our redeemer.

Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favor has come.”  (Luke 4:18-19 NLT)

God invites us now to let go of all that is unmanageable in our lives and to turn to God. When we do, the reality is that God will work everything together for our ultimate good.  That includes everything in our past, including what's ugly; everything in our present, including what is confusing; and everything in our future, including what is unfamiliar and unknown.

As we surrender our self-medicated way of life for God’s way of living we begin an exciting journey with Him.  God promises to never leave nor forsake us.  He promises to bring us to the knowledge of all truth and to fill us with His Holy Spirit.  The Holy Spirit, the power of God, will sustain us and guide us in all our ways.

As we look to Him, we will no longer live powerless. God will help us bring order into our lives and fill us with peace.  For God is not a God of disorder but of peace ... Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ. He anointed us, set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. (1 Corinthians 14:33 NLT; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 NIV)
