We're half way through the summer months and thoughts of fall and the "getting back to work" season begin to filter into our thinking. The truth is that even though we are a bit more conscious of making plans as the fall season and the school year approaches, we are always making plans for many things. Think about some of the things we plan: time, money, career, family, vacation, special events, transit route, food, business, housing, pension, future.
It is God's desire that we plan a good course in every area of life. God has given us the ability to think and plan. It's healthy and energizing to make plans. God also knows that we are limited in what we know and that for the best plans we need to bring in the expert. God is the expert. He made us. He knows the past, present, and future of our lives and of everything that will impact us. God is the architect of time and eternity. God invites us to seek His heart and His wisdom as we plan so He can show us how to fit things together well.
Put God’s kingdom first. Do what he wants you to do. Then all of those things will also be given to you. Matthew 6:33 (NIRV) God wants to bring our plans together in a way that is fuller and better than what we are able to imagine. Let’s plan to experience the life we’ve always longed by shaping our lives according to His plan.
