Tuesday August 13, 2013

In steps one, two and three, we admitted that we were powerless over our dependencies and our lives were unmanageable; we came to believe that a power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity and, we made a decision to turn our will and our life over to the care of God as we understood Him.
Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace. (Luke 1:78-79 NLT)
So, now we are in recovery, how are we to respond when we experience life as more than we can handle with situations which just don't seem to change despite our best efforts? We have to recognize that things are not the same as they once were. In the past we walked alone and in darkness. Now God is with us. We walk in the light of His presence and He watches over us. We may not see him but we have His Word that He will teach us the way we should go.

When a troubling situation arises in our lives, we bring it before God asking for His intervention. He will strengthen us in our deepest place of vulnerability as we move to resolve the issue. He will show us the right way to handle any problem we may encounter. He may show us new ways to resolve the issue, ways we have never even thought about or considered. God is not surprised or overwhelmed by what we are experiencing. God knows more about what concerns us than we could ever imagine.

This is GOD’s Message, the God who made earth, made it livable and lasting, known everywhere as GOD: ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’ (Jeremiah 33:2-3 MSG)
