February 5, 2014 Where In The World Do I Belong? (3)
Wednesday February 5, 2014

Sometimes we feel unwanted, unloved or uncared for. We tell ourselves that others do not know what goes on inside us; neither do they care about us. We feel lost and abandoned by society. This is not the truth for God cares for us. Before we were even born He knew us. The circumstances of our lives are not unknown to Him. He says in His word that even though our Father or Mother may abandon us that He never will.
Even if my father and mother abandon me, the Lord will hold me close. Psalm 27:10 NLT)

Our Heavenly Father is kind and gracious and pursues us with His love. Sometimes we just don’t want to know. We would rather remain in our miserable state. Jesus came to earth to demonstrate the love that God has for His creation which includes you and me. Jesus poured out His life on the cross so that we could have life and have it more abundantly. His gift has restored our relationship with God. If we choose to accept what Jesus has done for us on the cross then we are born again. We have been given a new life. What’s more we have more life to come—an eternity of life!

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure, because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. (Psalm 16:9-11 NIV)
God is greater than our hearts and knows everything about us. He knows what we worry about and how we tend to criticize ourselves and things around us. Why not live in God’s reality? Why not trust what God says is true? When we feel like we don’t belong, He says we are loved with an everlasting love. Why not receive it and stand on the truth of what He says? He says He has drawn us to Himself with unfailing kindness. Does this not make your heart sing? Why not receive all that God has for you and then you will belong to Him as a son or daughter. You will be in the Family of God and cared for by your Heavenly Father.

I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love. To them I was like one who lifts a little child to the cheek, and I bent down to feed them. (Hosea 11:4 NIV)
This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord. (Jeremiah 29:23-34 NIV)
God is faithful to His word; why not test Him on what He says? If you do you will truly know where you belong.
