For a couple of days we’ve been reflecting on wise sayings from the Proverbs of Solomon. From cover to cover the Bible is filled with wisdom and good direction for our lives. We do well when we listen to God’s word and obey His instructions
Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Psalm 111:10 NLT
God desires to help us know what is right and good. All we have to do is ask Him. If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. (James 1:5 NLT) In fact, when we surrender our lives to God and invite Him to be the Lord of our lives, God’s Spirit comes to live in our hearts and he teaches us everything we need to know. What joy and safety we have every day, in every situation as we walk with God. But when the Friend comes, the Spirit of the Truth, he will take you by the hand and guide you into all the truth there is. He won't draw attention to himself, but will make sense out of what is about to happen and, indeed, out of all that I have done and said. (John 16:13 MSG)
We gain wisdom as we meditate on the words of God as written in the Bible. We become people of integrity as we honour, worship and obey Him in all we do and say.
